    A Health Screening Date

For Valentines Day I gave my Husband a
                                          Gift of a Health Screening
His appt. was last week ,we spent Our Date day together and he took part of  The Life Line Screening

He signed in ,filled out a few questions and off he went

I am one that fully believes in Preventive Health Screens
My husband and I have been to several and it seems each time we have found out a health issue with a few basic easy health test.
I had started running Marathons and was so Blessed to attend one called
    The Never Quit Never,
where they do Blood Pressure checks on the beach . I insisted MySmitty get his checked it was a little high! I was in this Marathon in Honor of my younger brother who had a stroke before age 40 so the Alarm bells went off when they told my husband his Blood Pressure was up, we had no idea. He went to the doctor as soon as we got back and had it checked and placed on meds, so I am very thankful for that Health Screen.

I received a coupon in the mail for this Screening and it just kept being placed on my Heart to sign Hubby up. So for Valentines Day I called and made him an Appt.
    Thought alittle
LOVE to the Body was the
Best CHOCOLATE I could give him.

    The Screen was  easily explained

After a Quick Weigh In he began
He said everyone was very nice and explained every step

Here is a Few of the Screenings
On the Cards you can see what the Screenings where about
and actually what they do for that Screening
    Bone Density

    AAA Screening

    CA Screening

    AF Screening

    PAD Screening

The Testing was very Easy he said and we where given some other test results such as Blood Pressure ,a Glucose Screening that he Fasted for ,A Cholesterol Check ( still need more Fish in our diet n supplements for him, we are working on that  )and a few more .

After his Screening we had a Picnic in the Truck at the Health Fair , Ham Sandwiches ,Sweet Tea and MySmitty's Favorite My Homemade Peanut Butter Cookies. He Said A Sweet Blessing  and WE Enjoyed our Picnic:)

Last week was definately a week for Doctor visits MySmitty also had a followup and on his Colonoscopy that was recently done our doctor said Welcome to being 50 lol, everything came back non-cancerous but he did receive news he will have to repeat every 3 years not 5. Then I had another RFA done on my Lower Back last Friday still so sore but I can stand now and have made it outside a couple times:) Just going to Rest this week.

May You all have a Beautiful Week ,
If you get a chance sign up for a Health Screen
It just may save YOUR Life!

    The Faithful Beautiful Mustard Seed

After all the mustard plants were harvested  I saved this sprig of one of our Mustard Plants . I watched my daddy save some Mustard seeds  last year (2010) and actually this Mustard was grown from his saved seed from that year.

    I stripped the plant

Then crumbled the dried pods till the seeds fell out.

Did the Best I could, will continue to blow off the dried pods,
I managed this amount for next years planting :)
I kept looking at the Beautiful dried plant , Grabbed a Bow and made this little Arrangement.
Everytime I look at it I am reminded
"If I have Faith even as small as a Mustard Seed All Things are Possible"
O how much that Prayer means to Me these Days!!

    Image Detail
As a grain of mustard-seed - See the notes at Matthew 13:31-32. The mustard-seed was the smallest of all seeds. It has been supposed by some, therefore, that JESUS meant to say, If you have the smallest or feeblest faith that is genuine, you can do all things. The mustard-seed produced the largest of all herbs. It has been supposed by others, therefore, to mean, If you have increasing, expanding, enlarged faith, growing and strengthening from small beginnings, you can perform the most difficult undertaking. There is a principle of vitality in the grain of seed stretching forward to great results, which illustrates the nature of faith. Your faith should be like that. This is probably the true meaning.
Ye shall say unto this mountain ... - Probably he pointed to a mountain near, to assure them that if they had such faith they might accomplish the most difficult undertakings - things that at first would appear impossible.     You can find this info here at this link for more Study.    http://bible.cc/matthew/17-20.htm

May You have a Blessed Sunday
and Blessings of Faith to Your Family,

    Happenings On the Farm

With the ending of our English Pea season we just pulled up the whole vine brought it to the Porch and picked the peas right off!! Now that beats back bending :D !!
We are just so thrilled how they filled out

I think they have the cutest little flowers

I shelled and shelled, this is hard for me because just like crocheting ,it puts me to
     SLEEP:)
    So RELAXING !
Our 2012 English Pea total for  the freezer was 12 quarts , not bad for our first time and only .35cents worth of seed:)

Sophia and I have been picking Clover to feed the Rabbits. They love it .Sophias  walking has taken off.She definately goes where she wants now. lol

    Just loving the moment.

    Watching MySmitty cut the Pasture

He was making a path so we could walk the pasture and see snakes if we walked up on one. Rattlesnacks seems to be our pastures choice of snakes:/

Love how all the trees are now so full and Green

One of our tiny Corn Patches this year we decided to scatter corn all over the different garden patches.

Heres another several weeks behind the other.
This one is not grown on the plastic wanted to see how it does.

Just loving this beautiful Potatoe Patch I sure fretted over it for several days . Why ? look at picture below!

My goodness those Potatoe Bugs moved in  and were eating the patch so quick. We really didn't want to use a chemical but we had to put seven dust on them.

These bugs are not your friends !

The dusting helped the next day thewhole patch was bug free.We usually never add anything but manure on our plants so this kinda concerned me.The newpaper mulch has really helped keep the weeds out I have been just amazed!

Tiny little Potatoe Blooms are popping up everywhere. We must be doing something right. This is our first Potatoe Patch.

Tim signed me up last year for a Birthday Package to receive seeds monthy for a year. It has been so exciting each month to see what I will get from them each month.

This month I received 2 kinds I have never seen this ought to be a fun challenge, the Cress and Borage I have never heard of. Hope they grow well here.
This is a nice pot of my homemade Washing Liquid simmering , I really LOVE making my own Laundry detergent now.So easy and so much cheaper. You can find the recipe here http://www.ehow.com/how_2054303_homemade-laundry-detergent.html , my sisnlaw made us all some one year for christmas been hooked every since .
While the laundry detergent simmered I made an egg custard for the first time ,been making Pies lately. the guys were like umm mom this is alittle to gooey for us. Funny thing tho they loved the Buttermilk Pie think I'll just stick to making that:)

I was so excited Friday while Tim and I were on our Lunch date Friday, I found him this grapevine to add to the Farm, we had been talking about working on adding fruits to the Farm .we have planted 2 fig trees and the Banana tree  , well sprig lol , it came back up  , so this is a nice addition.

Here is the variety its a Sunbelt Grapevine .I like the name seeing how we do have The Sunbelt Ag EXPO here in our town in Georgia . I thought nicely Priced, Wally World had some for $10, so Lowes was a blessing:)

Now to pick a perfect spot:)Oh yeah found the Sweet Potatoe Vines ,geez these were hard to find , the store has constantly sold out each shipment. I have never planted them so I had no eyes to plant.O another First for us, see the little tomatoe plant its a Black Cherry Tomatoe kinda excited to see if these will grow here it is a Beautiful Plant.

Hope you enjoyed some of the happenings around the
    Smith Gangs Farm,
    Love from Our Gang
