Youth Ag Expo

           Right before school was out we attended an Ag Expo for Young students, we were invited by a Homeschool Group , so Hubby and I took Chase  ( he didn't mind missing classes  at his school that day at all :)  and Sophia and spent a Wonderful Morning Learning soooo much. I loved it!
A Showing of things that can be made from Cotton

Our Speaker shared with us that Georgia is one of the Highest Producers of Cotton

Now this was so suprizing to ME Cottonseed Oil !!!!
Alittle Pricy thou but I have never seen this on Grocery Store Shelves,I'm still looking into this Product ,but who knew!

This Gentleman was from Sanderson Farms 
He was showing the kids the little chickens
they hatch in our County. 
They Employ 1600 workers here in town.
My Own Sweet Hubby works for this company he hauls the Frozen Cut up Chickens to Grocery Store Distribution Centers.

We have 402 chicken Houses in Colquitt County.
I am just proud to have 11 chicks to look after at home lol 

This is Mr. Rossman from Rossman Bee Apparel
He raises and provides bees for the farming fields here.
Quick tip shared to the kids he said the old myth of stopping if bees attack is not true if several bees attack you grab your head and RUN,RUN,RUN !

taste of Honeys of all Flower Flavors

The Georgia Forestry came out and shared with the children on how to fight Forrest Fires

He says he is married to a Farming Wife:)



These Young Adults were from FFA / FCCLA
they talked with the kids about showing animals for Competition and what kind of dedication it takes to show and care for the animals. ok this was very interesting, who knew when they show a Cow he gets to sleep in an Air-Conditioned Barn!! and he gets Blow Dryed and they spray him with hairspray LOL
sad thing in the end the kids have to sale them..
Chase and I talked he may just show a pig this fall!?

Gotta Love a Tractor!

This Gentleman showed us the Cottonpickers

Now these look so cool in the fields as you drive by.

This Gentleman showed the kids about soil erosion

After a Quick Rain Shower on different types  of Soil

we got to look at how Rain  washes off soil  looks

We had a wonderful Day and it was a Great Group Kids
